Our Story

It was the year of 2018 when I went to Chandigarh on an invitation from my brother for some research work. My brother Dr. Prashant kumar sharma was an orthopaedic surgeon servicing in Chandigarh PGI in 2018. He proposed me to do some research work in the area of medical technology to invent some kind of medical device which was not available in Indian/global market and at the same time, there was a big demand of this medical device. It was “Paediatric Spica Table”. It is a medical device/platform which is used for the reduction of fracture shaft of femur or hip dislocation in children of age up to 7 years followed by applying spica cast.

Although, it was too much tough for me to be engaged in research work as I would had to leave the job for performing full time research activities. At that time I also came to know that most of the medical devices, apparatus and instruments are imported from outside. As Spica Table, a few countries manufacture and sell their patented device in India at very high market price. After thinking a lot in this way and taking it as my call, I decided to work on it with the strong willpower that I’ll invent new technology in spica table and will start first in-house production of advanced & low cast patented Spica Table.

After a long dedicated restless R&D work I finally invented ADVANCED PERIATRIC SPICA TABLE with such innovative features that makes it unique and so it was successfully filled for two patents in 2019 with two publications in Patent Journal. With this first time success I took it as my life time mission of inventing and developing medical devices and here it was the birth of AKSHIVA INNOVATIONS PRIVATE LIMITED.

I was looking for grants for development of device and for which I wondered here and there for a long time, struggled a lot for fincial support and guidance. Finally I heard about SIIC IIT KANPUR. Our company being incubated at SIIC INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Kanpur further. SIIC IITK helped me a lot in each manner to develop a full functioning physical device. I am very thank full to SIIC IITK & team for all their kind help.

I got grants & mentor guidance which helped me for the successful development of MVP that were deployed in some hospitals for pilot testing further. Also, it was successfully tested for its work functioning at Rama Medical Hospital & Research Centre Kanpur. 

Akshiva Innovations is at the stage of early traction and has started manufacturing of products. We are continuously contacting hospitals for demonstration of our product. Also, we are continuously doing precise R&D for making more advanced spica table and many new innovative medical devices. Our vision is developing indigenous patented medical devices and developing big entrepreneurship so that employment can be increase for the betterment & bright economical future of India as well as Indians.
